Black Star Is Back With a New Tour But No New Album (Yet)

Black Star is back for another round of touring, and this time, they might end up finally recording their follow-up album to 1998’s game-changing debut.

Although nothing official has been said about a new disc (there have been apparent song leaks live as well as denials), we can at least take solace in the fact that Mos Def and Talib Kweli are back on stage this fall, side-by-side, beginning with Rock the Bells in northern California.

Also, this seems like a no-brainer seeing as the two don’t have a ton of material together, but many sources are reporting Def and Kweli will be performing their debut album in its entirety onstage. If you’re a hip-hop fan of any sub-genre, this is music that can be easily appreciated, and is probably well worth the ticket.

Tour dates:

9/6 – New Orleans, LA – House of Blues
9/7 – Dallas, TX – House of Blues
9/8 – Houston, TX – House of Blues
